The growl actually doesn't faze him. He's heard Lucifer growl in other, nicer contexts, and besides, one has to accept these things when one's lover occasionally has the head of a lion. Or the entire body of a lion.

"That's a relief; I wouldn't mind, but I'd like a bit of warning first." There's laughter in his voice.

He comes over and sits gently on the end of the bed as he sees her relax, reaching to stroke the back of her neck. He studies the babies from a distance, unwilling to disturb them nursing or sleeping, but if they come to investigate him, he'll definitely want to cuddle them. "You found them? Orphans, I take it? They're darling. What are we naming them?"
