"That's a perfect name for a cat. Spitha." He hums his approval quietly. Some of the kittens are still climbing around them, but the one on his neck is purring now and tucking its paws beneath it. The tiniest catloaf.

"His wings remind me of a blackbird's," he says. "Although naming him 'Blackbird' might be a bit too on the nose. But his fur is almost more brown than black...like cherries and dark chocolate. Or Kahlua."

Okay, well, his mind was bound to wander toward liquor sooner or later. "Hmm. What about Bailey?"
