He is not the first to take her for a child. Gelfling all look quite soft and young to other species' eyes (expect perhaps to podlings, who probably think they look like gawky huge-eyed aliens). Deet is, in fact, full-grown, but her mannerisms, like her voice and face, speak of youth and a gentle spirit. There is a dark energy she carries, but it's well-controlled in here.

"I haven't been here all that long," she tells him brightly. "A few months. And I mostly visit with skekGra and urGoh or with the angels, so it's not that surprising we haven't met yet."

"It's a little weird, actually, being almost the only person my size around. But everyone seems awfully kind so far."

She considers a moment, then adds: "If you want to play, we could just trade truths and only ask nice questions, like 'what's your favorite animal?'"
