Truth or Dare: Nexus Edition

Lucifer isn't quite sure how this madness started. The angels had opened up the council chamber for visitors and of course Beelzebub had started them drinking, then they got rowdy and people started joining them. Who had brought up the idea of Truth or Dare was unknown but it rippled through the amassing group to a uniform good idea, despite the objective nature of it being a disaster.

Then there was some vote that Lucifer missed where Galahad, Prometheus, and Belial were made judges to keep things in line. That might have been the most reasonable and sane thing since this conversation started. Chairs were rearranged to a big circle.. and all the chairs from the villa had been taken. It was crowded, specially when they decided the judges should have chaises to lounge on. This was some true ancient Greek style madness with the drinking and the topics that were sure to come up. Still, it was all fun and games, right?

Rules of the Road:
1. Top level with your character.
2. Note if you are opting this in as canon for Nexus. This may be done in top level or in individual responses (If there is any questions about this please seek out players OOC.. Discord, PM in Dw etc)
3. A character may only ask truth or dare of the same character once.
4. However, a character may ask as many different characters as they please.
5. Characters may ask questions without doing a top level. However the 1 per the same character applies
6. If your character is crossing threads for a dare, please link back to the original comment where the dare was issued.
7. When in doubt ask?

Opting In for Cricket for Nexus canon, unless the other player prefers to opt out. :)

Cricket doesn't 100% understand this game. He gets the rules as they were explained, but the potential for it to go straight to Hell in a handbasket escapes him. He's already on the tipsy side, though, sprawled in his chair with a jar of blackberry moonshine.

The fact that Prometheus is some sort of judge here just makes him feel more sanguine about the whole idea.

Ben Solo chose Cricket partly because he seemed to be the most relaxed of the group. He's still intimidated by the angels - ironic for someone who once prided himself on being intimidating - and most of the people here are strangers. Cricket gives off an approachable feeling. The alcohol probably had something to do with it.

There are a lot of drunk people here. Ironically, Ben isn't one of them. This is good old-fashioned Questionable Decision-Making.

"Hello. I'm Ben." He greets the stranger politely, but quickly. "Truth or dare?"

Cricket does sort of project un-intimidating-ness, especially right now as he's slouched in his chair sideways, one arm draped across the back, looking contentedly drowsy. Anyway, he has a friendly smile and nod for a probably-human stranger that looks roughly his age (older, maybe, but close enough). "Hey, Ben," he greets mildly. "Cricket Pate."

He offers a handshake. Ben has no way of knowing how long it took Cricket to be capable of referring to people by their first names instead of 'sir' and 'ma'am' all the time. "Ain't seen you around before; welcome, I guess?"

Straightening a little, he sets his jar aside and chooses: "Truth!" That's probably better for getting to know someone.

"That's because I'm new. Hey, Cricket." Ben nods and parrots the greeting, politely but quickly. He'll probably always be more than a little awkward at parties, between his personality and his history, but Cricket clearly doesn't know who he is. And he's kind of having a little fun despite himself.

He takes the offered hand and shakes it. He knows how that works, at least.

"Truth. Good choice." There's a moment's thought, and Ben's eye catches the moonshine. "Let's say you had to go out for a drink with someone here. Any one of us. Who would it be?"

"Glad to meet you, then," his smile is completely open and sincere. "You need anything to settle in, you can call me. I'll...I don't know, I don't have a pen but I'll give you my PINpoint number later."

Terminally friendly, this kid.

Oh, but that's a good question! Cricket smiles. "Honestly, ain't a person in here I wouldn't drink with, so far's I know--" (Granted, he hasn't met Moloch yet.)

"But if I'm gonna choose one, it's gotta be him." He points at Beelzebub across the room. "'Cause I reckon I owe him one anyway. I sell the stuff and sales are up a lot since he got here. He's the angel of getting drunk, far as I can tell."

"Now, Harley or Thor would be a close second," he feels compelled to add. "She's a good friend. But Harley can't get drunk anyway, so I'mma stick with the angel."

"That's a generous offer. I wouldn't mind taking you up on that, once the game's finished."

Ben likes this boy's bravery. Granted, he doesn't know who Ben used to be or any reason why he should fear him, but it's still brave to reach out to a stranger like that - even one who wasn't a recovering galactic warlord. A little extra help settling in wouldn't hurt. Ben's found himself a temporary place to live but still needs a proper home.

"I don't know many of the angels, though I can guess who that one might be." Lucifer had mentioned a war commander who came by the Nexus, and that angel looks like he's armed for battle. An incredibly powerful war commander who's constantly drunk. That's...not a risky combination at all.

Ben only knows Lucifer, and not well, though he was willing to ask him for help once (if indirectly, and because he had no better plan). Honestly, the angels intimidate him a little with their sheer power and presence.

"Harley. She's a good choice." Ben's met Harley - she was one of the first people to welcome him to the Nexus. He doesn't know her well enough to consider her a friend, but she was kind to him, and he's not going to forget that.
