Truth or Dare: Nexus Edition

Lucifer isn't quite sure how this madness started. The angels had opened up the council chamber for visitors and of course Beelzebub had started them drinking, then they got rowdy and people started joining them. Who had brought up the idea of Truth or Dare was unknown but it rippled through the amassing group to a uniform good idea, despite the objective nature of it being a disaster.

Then there was some vote that Lucifer missed where Galahad, Prometheus, and Belial were made judges to keep things in line. That might have been the most reasonable and sane thing since this conversation started. Chairs were rearranged to a big circle.. and all the chairs from the villa had been taken. It was crowded, specially when they decided the judges should have chaises to lounge on. This was some true ancient Greek style madness with the drinking and the topics that were sure to come up. Still, it was all fun and games, right?


Rules of the Road:
1. Top level with your character.
2. Note if you are opting this in as canon for Nexus. This may be done in top level or in individual responses (If there is any questions about this please seek out players OOC.. Discord, PM in Dw etc)
3. A character may only ask truth or dare of the same character once.
4. However, a character may ask as many different characters as they please.
5. Characters may ask questions without doing a top level. However the 1 per the same character applies
6. If your character is crossing threads for a dare, please link back to the original comment where the dare was issued.

Phenex can't resist an author, and honestly they hadn't spoken to anyone yet. It was almost as fun watching the chaos that was happening, rather than participate.

"Good evening." They address her with a smile. "Are you playing this child's game or observing as I have been?"

"Galahad?" The angel approaching him is in all black, though rather modern clothing, and black wings. He's muscular like Beelzebub but not as tall, around six feet. His white eyes don't acknowledge anything but the black hawk on his shoulder cocks its head to get a look at Galahad. "It's a pleasure to finally see you among us."

The hawk settles on his shoulder after getting a look at the person before them. "I'm High Chancellor Belial.... Lucifer's advisor. I noticed they've given you a seat beside me to reign in this chaos. A vote that speaks highly to your mind."

Belial is also acting as a judge to keep things from getting too far out of control.

Cricket doesn't 100% understand this game. He gets the rules as they were explained, but the potential for it to go straight to Hell in a handbasket escapes him. He's already on the tipsy side, though, sprawled in his chair with a jar of blackberry moonshine.

The fact that Prometheus is some sort of judge here just makes him feel more sanguine about the whole idea.

Ben Solo chose Cricket partly because he seemed to be the most relaxed of the group. He's still intimidated by the angels - ironic for someone who once prided himself on being intimidating - and most of the people here are strangers. Cricket gives off an approachable feeling. The alcohol probably had something to do with it.

There are a lot of drunk people here. Ironically, Ben isn't one of them. This is good old-fashioned Questionable Decision-Making.

[Well this is a look, isn't it? The angel's going to get a quick elevator gaze from Dorian from a few paces away as the immortal processes the apparent gladitorial armor the angel's treating everyone at the party to. Resident party animal warrior angel, he supposes?

Beyond that, Dorian can definitely appreciate someone who looks just about as drunk as he feels, and as into the party as he himself is. Beelzebub seems like fun, which is more than enough to make this particular immortal approach.]

Deet is 99% sure Thnisko isn't going to be involved in this. There is too much noise going on. But most of his family is here and she has yet to see any indication they're not her friends, too (obviously not as close friends as Thnisko is, but still!), and anyway it'd be good to get to know everyone better, so this is definitely a great idea!

"Deet!" skekGra gets himself mostly under control, urGoh at his side. The Heretic approaches his Gelfling friend, a smile on his toothy beak. He's pleased to see her here. There's a good mix of familiar faces and strangers. More people to meet! He should attend these get-togethers more often.

Mammon wasn't interested in playing the game at hand, but he was social. The number of new beings, or new to him, in the villa at the moment intrigued the angel. He had watched for some time, metallic gold wings with their silver down were relaxed. This was the kind of environment he appreciated. He dressed rather subdued for his usual flash in white and red with opals and other whitish gems embroidered into the cuffs and collar. When he stepped out into the room it was a well dressed man that caught his attention. He could see that he was close with the angels and probably aligned with Mammon's own spheres if he relied on first impressions.

Mammon approached with dignity and confidence. He was a trader and used to being an asset. He had no reason to bend to others, but he also bore a politeness necessary for business.

"Good evening." He offers as he stops, close but comfortably respectful of personal space. He notes the lack of drink in the other immortals hands. "You should join us in a drink."

He's been dared to kiss people, and platonic kisses are expressly permitted. At that rate, he sort of suspects Amartolosa would be sad if she didn't get a kiss, so she is his first stop.

"Evening, darling," he greets, all smiles, and leans in to give her a kiss on the cheek. "Happy whatever-we're-celebrating."

Loki is keeping out of this for the most part, hanging about the margins of the room. The opportunity that presents itself is too tempting to deny completely, though, and so somewhere in the middle of the evening he slides into the chair nearest Astaroth.

Honestly he's mostly doing this because he's curious what he'll be asked in return.

Second stop for the kissing dare is also a no-brainer. He puts a hand on Peter's shoulder in greeting, so as not to startle him by sneaking up, then hugs him gently and kisses his forehead.

"That was for a dare," he says. "But I'm actually awfully happy to see you, either way. Having a good time?"

Aziraphale is surprised at first to see Peninnah here, but he supposes that after the joint holiday party, she has grown more comfortable with Lucifer and his court. At any rate, he's delighted to see her, and takes the empty seat next to her so that he can greet her properly.

"Hello, my dear. How have you been doing? Are you participating in the game of truth-or-dare, or merely observing?"

skekSa's a sight in her nautical clothing and feathered hat, her cutlass buckled to her side as she finds a chair, tail draped on her lap.

She's drunk plenty of rum to get herself in the mood. While she doesn't know this game exactly, she can follow the rules, and she figures Truth or Dare is a good a diversion for an old pirate as any. Besides, she wants to get to know the people here better.

That most certainly is a skeksis! For a moment, Deet is genuinely frightened, and looks around for backup. Seeing SkekGra and UrGoh there, and then of course all the angels, including Thnisko, makes her rational brain kick back in. Even if this is one of the bad ones--and she may not be, because she doesn't look familiar--there's no way she could do anything to harm Deet here and now.

So, if they're going to be able to make friends, this is clearly the best opportunity to try. She waves from across the room to catch skekSa's attention and gives her a sunny smile (best to start as you mean to go on, right?). "Hello! Hi! Truth or Dare?"

Aziraphale should have left the moment chairs started being rearranged into a circle, but he is well into the stage of drinking where the long-term consequences of fun party games are not taken into account. So he sits and waits to be asked and will let future!Aziraphale deal with any potential embarrassment.

A friendly bird-lizard approaches Aziraphale, accompanied by a four-armed creature which looks like a cross between a reptile and a puppy. skekGra's drunk, but not on alcohol. He and urGoh brought their own urdrupe berries to the party for their enjoyment, so they're as excited as they come, even by skekGra's standards.

"I think I know how the rules work by now. Truth or dare?"

"Think...carefully," adds urGoh. The Mystic observes the proceedings with interest, in his slow way.

"Hello! I don't believe we've formally met," Balthazar greets Abigor brightly. It's not an entirely innocent introduction, because he offers a handclasp, and if it's accepted, he fully intends to kiss the back of the other angel's knuckles, as if Balthazar were some sort of gentleman. (Haha!)

"I'm Balthazar. You work with Beelzebub, don't you?" He is trying to learn!

This is a terrible idea.

Of all the people to ask to participate in a silly parlor game, Moloch should be at the bottom of the list, especially as Aziraphale does not want to disrupt the delicate rapport that they have already built. But something about the fallen angel sitting there by himself feels like... well, not quite a challenge, but something akin to that. And so, with just enough alcohol in his system to convince himself that this isn't a terrible idea, he squares his shoulders and approaches.

"Hello, Moloch." His smile is polite and surprisingly unforced. "Truth or dare?"

"Hey! Where is your better half? Ya'know… Mister Mambo Number Five?" Harley comes up to Balthazar with a big ol' grin on her face. Thanks to a dare from Cricket, she has given Lucifer a new nickname, and is going to see if Balthazar will run with it. She has a good feeling he will.

skekGra likes games, and the more he hears about this one the more he likes it. Dares, embarrassing situations, the humiliation of total strangers...what can possibly go wrong?

He even convinced urGoh to come along to watch! The Mystic's observing the proceedings with a little nervousness, but the Heretic is nothing but excited as he sits in his chair.

The last target of Dorian's dare he approaches with more warning. Beelzebub is pretty drunk when he comes up to skekGra with a glass of brandy for him. A bigger target he needs to get a look at what will be the best way to approach this lifting without hitting the ceiling.
